So far so good. I have had no side effects except for a little drowsiness, which is fine. I've spent quite a bit of time sleeping to get me through the long hours of the day during which I was used to smoking up to two packs of cigarettes.
On day one I smoked nine.
On day two I smoked eight.
Today I hope to cut that back to seven.
Boring, I know, but this is my way of telling my tale of quitting. It'll get uglier and more interesting as the quit date approaches and for the days and months that follow.
I continue to pray for support.

The night before
Tomorrow I start Chantix. I'm nervous but excited. I'm also drinking wine because I plan on giving up alcohol to help the tobacco cessation. Tomorrow I also will only be allowed to smoke outside in the freezing cold. I've successfully removed smoking from my home and vehicles, but I've allowed myself to smoke in the garage for the past two years. Tomorrow that stops. Rain, snow, sleet or the dead of night will tell the tale if this beginning ex-smoker achieves her goal.
